Due to their infancy, metaverses and their administrators are always searching for ways to refine the user experience and eliminate obstacles. This is in keeping with the announcement of a new bug bounty program by leading metaverse platform The Sandbox.
We recommend reading up articles on what's been happening in the Sandbox and its Alpha Season 3, as well as in Decentraland games, before diving into this article.
Users are incentivized by monetary reward to discover vulnerabilities in the application and report them.
The users of The Sandbox metaverse may now actively shape the ecology they inhabit. The benefits are scaled according to the severity of the vulnerability as determined by the Immunefi Vulnerability Severity Classification System V2.2, a 5-point scale. In addition, a Proof of Concept (PoC) showing the vulnerability's impact on an asset within scope is required for all vulnerabilities disclosed before any award is issued.
The essay goes on to say that the maximum payout for discovering a serious flaw in a smart contract is 10% of the total monetary loss. For serious smart contract bug reporting, The Sandbox will provide a prize of between $50,000 and $200,000. These issues will be fixed for the good of the community as more people discover and report them.
