Sony Network Communications and Astar Network, a multi-chain platform for smart contracts, have recently publicized the imminent Demo Day of their Web3 Incubation Program. The event, set to take place on June 18th, represents the conclusion of a joint incubation endeavor in conjunction with Startale Labs Pte Ltd. As a featured event of Japan Blockchain Week, the Demo Day is attracting international interest.

Merging Digital and Physical Realms

The Demo Day promises to be a fusion of digital and physical worlds, enabling global participants to join either in-person or virtually in the Metaverse. The day's itinerary encompasses pitch sessions from each participating project, along with discussions concerning the Web3 Incubation Program's current status, achieved milestones, and future directions.

This event represents the second collaboration between Sony and Astar Network, aiming to bridge the gap between innovative creators and corporations, and venture capitalists eager to support Web3 startups.

In an effort to encourage open dialogue, the Demo Day will also host a networking segment. The event, conducted in English, is free to attend, with registrations open online.

Unique Event Tokens

In-person attendees will be granted a SoulBound Token (SBT), provided by Lemonade, a comprehensive multi-chain platform. This distinct SBT will serve as a memento of the occasion and, like all SBTs, cannot be transferred. Online attendees, on the other hand, will receive an NFT pass from Snickerdoodle Labs, granting access to the Demo Day in the COSMIZE Metaverse.

Due to a high level of interest, event passes will be distributed through a lottery system, instead of a first-come, first-served approach. The exact location of the venue will be communicated to all attendees via email.

A Call to all Web3 Startups and Venture Capitalists

The Web3 Incubation Program invited startups from across the globe, with 19 of over 200 applicants chosen based on their technology, team, and product appeal. Sota Watanabe, founder of Astar Network, spoke about the selection, stating, "These leading teams, launched on Astar, are primed to build Web3 solutions with Sony Network Communications."

Throughout the program, startups have had the opportunity to learn from successful Web3 companies, global venture capitalists, and the extensive resources of Sony Network Communications. The participants have also engaged in enlightening discussions with program candidates, further deepening their understanding of Web3 technologies and potential collaborations.
